Hyatt Place Kuala Lumpur, Bukit Jalil is the first Hyatt Place hotel in Malaysia. Located in Bukit Jalil, an affluent suburb within the southern corridor of Kuala Lumpur, the hotel features 250 contemporary guestrooms, a three-meal restaurant, rooftop dining venue, ballroom and meeting facilities, flexible event spaces, a fitness centre and an outdoor sky pool.
We are currently looking for an experienced Assistant Safety & Security Manager to support the Safety & Security Manager in ensuring a safe, secure and welcoming environment for our guests, colleagues and hotel assets.
In this role, you will assist in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Safety & Security Department, ensuring compliance with Hyatt's safety standards, security procedures and local regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in leading the security team, responding to emergencies, conducting investigations and promoting a culture of safety throughout the hotel.
As a member of the hotel's team, you will work closely with all departments to protect people, property and business operations while delivering exceptional guest experiences. This position reports directly to the Engineering & Security Manager.

Key Qualifications, Requirements & Responsibilities
- Diploma or Degree in Security Management, Occupational Safety & Health, Risk Management, Criminology or a related discipline is preferred.
- Minimum 3–5 years' experience in hotel security, law enforcement, military, loss prevention or a similar role, with previous supervisory experience preferred.
- Support the daily operations of the Safety & Security Department by supervising team members, coordinating shift schedules and maintaining high service and security standards.
- Conduct routine patrols, monitor CCTV, access control systems and alarm systems to ensure the safety of guests, associates and hotel property.
- Perform safety inspections, risk assessments, security audits and identify opportunities to improve workplace safety and security.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, thefts and guest or associate concerns, preparing accurate reports and recommending corrective actions.
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response procedures, evacuation drills, fire safety initiatives and business continuity plans.
- Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, security incidents and guest situations while maintaining a calm and effective approach.
- Ensure compliance with Hyatt policies, local legislation and occupational safety requirements.
- Build strong working relationships with hotel departments, contractors, emergency services, local authorities and external partners.
- Provide coaching, guidance and on-the-job training to Safety & Security Officers to encourage continuous development.
- Maintain accurate security records, incident logs and departmental documentation.
- Excellent communication, leadership, conflict resolution and report-writing skills with strong attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; knowledge of hotel security systems and fire life safety systems is an advantage.
- Current security licence, First Aid certification and Fire Safety or Occupational Safety & Health certifications will be an added advantage.
- Able to work rotating shifts, weekends, public holidays and be available for emergency call-outs when required.
