Overview And Purpose Of The Position

The Psychologist is required to provide psychometric assessments and intervention programmes for patients within the Child Development Unit of the Department of Paediatrics. He/ She will be involved in data collection and analysis to support research and inform psychoeducational programmes. The Psychologist works under the supervision of a Senior Psychologist.

Responsibilities And Duties

  • To conduct appropriate psychometric assessments and result interpretation for referred patients.
  • To accurately document assessment findings and make appropriate recommendations.
  • To develop, implement and evaluate appropriate intervention / group programmes for referred patients.
  • To develop materials for teaching and training.
  • To provide in-service training for department staff as needed.
  • To provide specialised teaching and supervision to psychology interns on clinical attachment.
  • To contribute to team level operational tasks.
  • To participate in research projects as a member of the research team, as appropriate.
  • To provide expertise for queries from magazines, newspapers or other forms of media from our Corporate Communications department.


Qualification Required And Area Of Discipline

  • Master of Psychology, with specialisation in Educational / School Psychology or Clinical Psychology, from an accredited university.
  • Registered or eligible for registration with a recognised psychological professional body.

Required Competencies and Capabilities (Skills, Experiences and Professional Licences)

  • Fresh Master level graduates with relevant work/internship experience prior to/during Masters training.
  • Applicants with clinical t raining in conducting assessments and/or providing therapy to children.
  • A team player who is motivated to provide a high standard of patient care and also able to work independently.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to speak a second language is preferred.
