We are pleased to be partnering a fast-growing regional payments infrastructure client to appoint a Total Rewards Manager (circa. MYR16-18k monthly base) into their People team. With a strong presence in Malaysia and expanding teams across key markets in Southeast and South Asia, they are scaling rapidly in a regulated, high-growth environment. This role will be based in Kuala Lumpur (Golden Triangle area), Malaysia - default arrangement is five-days-in-office.

Job Description

As the client professionalises their People function, this incoming will be their first full-time hire for this critical Compensation & Benefits function. You will report to the People Director and play a foundational role in designing and implementing competitive, scalable rewards frameworks that support their growth ambitions.

• Design, implement and continuously improve total rewards strategies (base pay, variable pay, benefits, allowances and related programmes) that attract and retain talent across multiple markets
• Conduct market benchmarking and internal equity analysis to ensure packages remain competitive in the fintech and payments space
• Partner closely with the People Director and business leaders on workforce planning, salary structures, job grading and performance-linked rewards
• Manage day-to-day C&B operations, benefits administration, and ensure compliance with local labour and regulatory requirements
• Build processes, policies and reporting from the ground up — this is a genuine “build” opportunity rather than maintenance of existing systems
• Support broader people initiatives that strengthen employee value proposition and culture

The Successful Candidate

• Solid experience in Compensation & Benefits, Total Rewards or related HR specialisations, ideally within fintech, financial services, tech or high-growth environments
• Strong understanding of regional employment regulations
• Analytical mindset with comfort using data for benchmarking, modelling and decision-making
• Hands-on, self-starter attitude — you will be comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy while building structure
• Excellent stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at different levels
• Degree in HR, Business, Finance or related field preferred
