Job Description – Test Lead (Banking Domain)

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Test Lead with strong banking domain experience to lead end-to-end testing activities for banking applications and digital banking projects. The candidate will be responsible for test planning, execution, defect management, stakeholder coordination, and ensuring high-quality delivery across projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end System Testing, Integration Testing, Regression Testing, UAT and Production Validation activities.
• Prepare test strategy, test plans, test scenarios, test cases and test execution reports.
• Lead and manage testing teams, including task allocation, progress tracking and performance monitoring.
• Review test cases and ensure adequate coverage of business and technical requirements.
• Work closely with Business Analysts, Developers, Project Managers and Business Users to resolve testing issues.
• Manage defects throughout the testing lifecycle using tools such as Jira, ALM or equivalent.
• Conduct defect triage meetings and coordinate with development teams for timely resolution.
• Identify testing risks, dependencies and gaps and provide appropriate mitigation plans.
• Ensure testing activities are delivered according to agreed scope, timelines, quality standards and project milestones.
• Provide regular testing status reports, metrics and updates to project stakeholders.
• Support UAT activities and coordinate with business users and relevant banking teams.
• Ensure compliance with applicable banking, security, audit and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of testing processes, methodologies and quality standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Software Testing, with significant experience in a Test Lead capacity.
• Strong banking / financial services domain experience.
• Strong knowledge of STLC, SDLC and testing methodologies.
• Hands-on experience in test planning, test execution, defect management and reporting.
• Experience managing testing teams and coordinating with multiple stakeholders.
• Good understanding of Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
• Experience with Jira, HP ALM or similar test/defect management tools.
• Good understanding of SQL/database testing and API testing is preferred.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and communication skills.
• Ability to manage multiple testing activities and deliver within tight timelines.
• ISTQB certification is an advantage.

Preferred

• Experience working on large-scale banking transformation / digital banking projects.
• Experience with payment systems and banking integrations.
• Knowledge of API testing, automation testing and performance testing.
• Experience working with distributed teams and senior business/technology stakeholders.

Pay: RM10,000.00 - RM12,000.00 per month
