Role Overview

We are seeking a technically strong and proactive Pre-Sales Engineer to support the planning, solution design, and development of BMS and EMS systems for new construction and retrofit projects.

You will be responsible for understanding customer requirements and converting them into practical, compliant, and commercially viable technical solutions that align with Singapore's regulatory standards and sustainability objectives.

The successful candidate will develop strong technical knowledge of the ENX Sustainability Suite, including its system architecture, integration capabilities, and compatibility with different field devices and technologies.

You will work closely with the Sales and Engineering teams throughout the sales process, providing technical support from initial solution planning and proposal development through to contract award.

Key Responsibilities

Solution Planning & System Design

• Work with customers and business partners to understand operational needs, site conditions, and energy management objectives.
• Develop appropriate technical solutions and system architectures for BMS and EMS implementations.
• Convert customer requirements into practical designs that can achieve measurable improvements in energy efficiency.
• Carry out site assessments for retrofit projects and identify potential areas for energy-saving improvements.

Technical Advisory & Product Demonstration

• Conduct product demonstrations, technical presentations, and workshops for customers and project stakeholders.
• Provide technical guidance on system integration, interoperability, scalability, and relevant regulatory requirements, including BCA, PUB, and NEA standards.
• Explain technical solutions and system capabilities clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Tender & Proposal Development

• Develop detailed scopes of work, Bills of Materials (BOM), functional specifications, and other technical documentation.
• Coordinate with Sales and Engineering teams to ensure proposal requirements, deliverables, and submission schedules are properly aligned.
• Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and commercially competitive technical proposals.

Hardware & Technology Evaluation

• Evaluate third-party hardware and technologies based on compatibility, reliability, functionality, and performance.
• Select and recommend suitable sensors, controllers, meters, and IoT devices according to specific project requirements.

Stakeholder & Partner Coordination

• Work with consultants, facility management teams, procurement personnel, and other stakeholders to establish project requirements.
• Engage consultants and contractors to communicate the capabilities and benefits of ENX solutions.
• Work together with business partners to develop technically strong and competitive proposals.
• Support the handover from the sales stage to project implementation by ensuring technical documentation is complete and providing relevant technical training.
• Provide technical guidance and training to partner engineering teams covering implementation, testing, commissioning, and troubleshooting.

Project Deployment Support

• Provide technical assistance to field engineers during project implementation and deployment.
• Support project teams in resolving technical issues to ensure successful and timely delivery.

Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, preferably Mechanical, Electrical, Building Services, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Pre-Sales, Solution Engineering, System Design, or a similar technical role, preferably within the BMS/EMS industry.
• Practical experience with electrical and water sub-metering, lighting control systems, and ACMV systems.
• Good understanding of building automation communication protocols, including BACnet, Modbus, and MQTT.
• Strong knowledge of networking infrastructure, including routers, switches, LTE, and wireless communication networks.
• Familiarity with Singapore building regulations, energy efficiency requirements, and Green Mark certification.
• Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate technical information effectively to different stakeholders.

Preferred Skills

• Relevant certification such as Singapore Certified Energy Manager (SCEM) or Singapore Energy Auditor.
• Experience in energy analytics, smart metering, or energy monitoring platforms.
• Knowledge of chilled water systems, lighting control systems, and ACMV operations.
• Practical experience with HVAC/ACMV control systems and building automation applications.
