Role Overview

The General Manager will oversee the overall business and operational management of a large-scale food manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for driving operational performance, financial results, quality and regulatory compliance, and people development across key functions including Production, Facility Maintenance, Supply Chain, Warehouse, QA/QC, and Digital & Technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee overall site P&L, operational budgets, CapEx, COGS optimization, and operational margin improvement.
• Drive plant productivity and OEE while optimizing production output, waste, labour costs, and raw material utilization.
• Lead manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives across Production, Facility Maintenance, Supply Chain, and Warehouse operations.
• Ensure audit readiness and compliance with HALAL, HACCP, FSSC 22000, GMP, ISO, DOSH, BOMBA, and other applicable standards.
• Maintain high standards of workplace safety, food quality, food safety, and customer specification compliance.
• Oversee corrective and preventive actions arising from internal, external, customer, and regulatory audits.
• Provide strategic leadership to cross-functional department heads.
• Develop leadership pipelines, talent retention strategies, and workforce capabilities.
• Foster a high-performance, accountable, and cross-culturally inclusive working environment.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of operational experience in food manufacturing or food processing.
• Strong preference for experience in commercial bakery or high-volume food production.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in a senior plant leadership role, such as Plant General Manager or Operations Director.
• Proven experience managing P&L, plant financials, COGS optimization, and operational cost improvement.
• Strong knowledge of FSSC 22000, HACCP, GMP, and ISO.
• Good working knowledge of relevant statutory requirements, including HALAL, DOSH, and BOMBA.
• Proven experience leading diverse, multi-cultural teams and managing cross-cultural business interactions.
• Hands-on understanding of automated food processing lines, plant engineering, preventive maintenance, and supply chain logistics.

Willingness to be based at Iskandar Puteri, Johor.
