Job SummaryWe are seeking a highly systematic, analytical, and detail-oriented Financial Crime Specialist to join our regional corporate risk and compliance practice. In this critical role, you will be a core technical owner responsible for executing end-to-end financial crime investigations, auditing transaction monitoring alerts, managing Anti-Money Laundering (AML) / Counter-Financing of Terrorism (CFT) compliance reviews, and mitigating fraud risks.Operating at the intersection of business management units, legal compliance squads, and centralized transaction repositories, you will ensure total precision in our transaction registries and risk frameworks. The ideal candidate will combine strong data investigative precision with a deep understanding of financial crime methodologies to systematically eliminate compliance anomalies, process complex risk matrices, and maintain corporate operational integrity.
Key Responsibilities
- Transaction Monitoring & Auditing: Review, analyze, and systematically audit high-volume transactional datasets and automated compliance alerts to isolate potential money laundering, terrorist financing, or fraud metrics.
- Financial Crime Investigations: Lead and document end-to-end complex case investigations into anomalous account activity, compiling comprehensive factual summaries and evidentiary logs for management review.
- Regulatory Reporting Support: Prepare and draft high-quality draft metrics for Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) and regular compliance reports in strict alignment with regional regulatory timelines.
- Risk Assessment Management: Perform robust periodic customer risk assessments and enhanced due diligence (EDD) reviews on high-risk portfolios or specialized institutional accounts.
- Sanctions & PEP Screening Optimization: Manage and optimize the configuration settings of automated screening matrices for Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs) and international sanction access lists to eliminate false positives.
- Cross-Functional Alignment: Act as a reliable technical point of coordination between front-office relationship teams, internal legal units, backend data engineering squads, and centralized internal audit teams.
- Data Governance Compliance: Enforce rigid compliance with enterprise information security protocols, ensuring all highly sensitive investigative registries and customer datasets strictly comply with the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) [Singapore].
Requirements
- Education: Minimum Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Accountancy, Corporate Finance, Business Administration, Criminology, Law, or a highly quantitative quantitative professional discipline. Professional credentials (such as ACAMS, International Compliance Association (ICA) diplomas, or forensic accounting certifications) are highly valued.
- Technical Proficiency: High competency in advanced Microsoft Office Suite applications (specifically Excel for data modeling, pivot tables, and data parsing formulas) alongside hands-on experience navigating dedicated AML transaction monitoring software, automated screening infrastructure, or SQL querying frameworks.
- Experience: Prior hands-on experience as a financial crime analyst, AML investigator, compliance officer, or forensic audit coordinator—preferably within professional consulting services, technology consultancy networks, digital platforms, or corporate banking sectors—is required.
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written English communication skills; professional etiquette and an assertive, collaborative stakeholder engagement style to handle complex case parameters with extreme diplomacy.
- Core Competencies: Outstanding structural logic, sharp quantitative and deductive reasoning capabilities under tight statutory timelines, intense attention to detail, and a resilient team-player mindset.
Pay: $5,600.00 - $8,400.00 per month
