Job Title: Senior API & Microservices Developer

Experience Level: 4+ Years

Job Summary

We are seeking a Senior API & Microservices Developer to design, develop, enhance, and support API-driven and microservices-based solutions within WAM and OPI platforms. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, and high-performance enterprise services using Java Spring Boot and API management technologies. Candidates may be aligned to either the API Gateway (WAM) or Java Microservices (OPI) stream based on their expertise.

Required Skill Set

• 4+ years of experience in Java development, API development, or Microservices development.
• Strong hands-on experience in Java and Spring Boot – Mandatory.
• Proven experience in at least one of the following:
  • API Gateway/API Management: Axway API Gateway, Axway API Manager, Apigee, Kong, Layer 7, etc.
  • Java Spring Boot Microservices Development – Mandatory.
• Strong experience working in Unix/Linux environments.
• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs and Microservices Architecture.
• Experience with Oracle Database 12c/19c and/or Cassandra DB.
• Strong experience in debugging, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and production support.
• Good understanding of API integration and enterprise backend development.
• Knowledge of OAuth2, JWT, SSO, and MFA integration is advantageous.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Exposure to monitoring and logging tools such as ELK, Splunk, and Prometheus & Shell Scripting.

Nice-to-Have Skills

• Understanding of banking domain applications, particularly WAM/OPI systems.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
• Exposure to enterprise application monitoring, deployment, and production support.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and microservices using Java Spring Boot.
• Develop and support API management solutions using Axway API Manager, Axway API Gateway, or equivalent platforms such as Apigee, Kong, or Layer 7.
• Build scalable and high-performance backend services for enterprise banking applications across WAM/OPI platforms.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, Business Analysts, QA teams, and other technical stakeholders to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure API security, performance, scalability, availability, and reliability across environments.
• Develop and maintain integrations with Oracle Database 12c/19c and/or Cassandra DB.
• Troubleshoot application and production issues and perform root cause analysis (RCA).
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, technical solutioning, and architectural discussions.
• Support application deployment and troubleshooting activities in Unix/Linux environments.
• Follow established SDLC, coding standards, Agile methodologies, and DevOps best practices.
