Role Purpose

As a Host at Mama Shelter, you are more than the first-person guests meet and you set the mood.

Outgoing, lively, bubbly and naturally social, you welcome guests like they’re arriving at Mama’s home. You know how to mingle, start conversations, remember familiar faces and make newcomers feel instantly comfortable.

From managing reservations and the flow of the restaurant to creating a fun and welcoming atmosphere, you bring the Mama spirit to every interaction.

What You’ll Do

• Welcome every guest with energy, warmth and personality.
• Be outgoing and confident and mingle with guests, make conversation and create connections.
• Recognise returning guests and make first-time visitors feel like regulars.
• Manage reservations, seating plans, waiting lists and restaurant flow efficiently.
• Answer reservation enquiries and guest questions quickly and confidently.
• Communicate closely with the service team to manage table availability and guest expectations.
• Know what’s happening at Mama and actively share our restaurants, bars, events and experiences with guests.
• Read the room and know when guests want conversation, when they need assistance and when they simply want to enjoy themselves.
• Help create the buzz, energy and atmosphere that makes Mama feel different.
• Support the service team whenever needed at Mama, everyone rolls up their sleeves.
• Handle guest concerns with confidence, positivity and genuine care.
• Keep the host station and entrance welcoming, organised and ready for action.
• Always represent Mama with personality, professionalism and style.
