What The Role Is
As a Deputy Director in the Land Policy Division at the Ministry of Law, you will drive the development and review of legislation, policies, and strategies, to optimise land use for Singapore’s social and economic development.
What You Will Be Working On
The key policy areas include:
- Optimisation and Management of State land and properties
- Land Sales and Lease Administration
- Acquisition and safeguarding of land for public purposes
- Property registration and Collective Sales
- Safeguarding of residential land
You will deputise the Director in the following areas:
- Oversee the formulation of land related policies and legislative reviews which includes providing guidance to team members (via the conceptualisation, vetting and review of policy proposals) and forging consensus with other government agencies
- Oversee the processing of all land related submissions and queries which involves vetting/approval of submissions and reviewing of case tracking system
- Manage the division’s work plan and resource planning which involves the periodic review of the division’s work plan and performance, as well as the periodic review and monitoring of the division’s manpower and budget
- Manage the team which includes motivating/coaching/mentoring/performance review/dialogue/career development guidance/routine administrative responsibilities (e.g. leave and course application) and other HR matters.

- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work in a team and collaborate with stakeholders, as well as work independently
- Be meticulous and conscientious
Successful candidate will be appointed on a 1-year contract in the first instance, subject to renewal.
