Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Nurse Educator to support and develop the clinical knowledge and skills of nursing and allied health staff within our hospital setting. The role involves coordinating education and training programs, maintaining clinical competency, and supporting high standards of nursing practice and patient care in alignment with organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities

1. Administrative

• Maintains staff education and training records.
• Assists the Nurse Manager, Director of Nursing and clinical leaders with setting education and training strategy.
• Assists with the development of budget and resources for nursing and allied-health education.
• Liaises with external education and training resources.

2. Clinical

• Performs as a clinical expert/resource to establish, maintain and improve nursing practice.
• Assists in providing patient care in a professional manner in the inpatient and / or outpatient settings as needed, consistent with the standards outlined in the Code of Professional Conduct for Nurses, Nursing Board Malaysia.
• Monitors practices to ensure adherence to professional and legal standards.
• Coordinates and facilitates discharge process, patient/family education, at-home services and related matters.

3. Resource Management

• Provides recommended resources to enhance the education and training of clinical and non-clinical staff.
• Maintains inventory of training materials.
• Oversees the use of training schedule and use of training rooms/resources.

4. Facilities Management

• Participates in the evaluation and recommendation of specialized equipment.
• Assists with the evaluation of facility departments to ensure meeting environmental and safety standards.

5. Quality Assurance Program

• Assists with the development, monitoring and evaluation of quality indicators in Education and Training.
• Participates in hospital/medical staff committees and support quality improvement programs as appropriate.
• Reports Education and Training quality outcomes to appropriate hospital and Medical Staff committees.

6. Training

• Participates in the development of education and training to support new clinical programs.
• Assists in the development of clinical and non-clinical competencies for the nursing non-nursing departments.
• Perform clinical assessments of nurses and provide certification of competency where required.

7. Service Delivery

• Provides exemplary patient/customer service throughout organization.
• Monitors service standards to ensure excellent service delivery.

Requirements

• Bachelor in Nursing Science qualification
• Post Basic Certificate in an applicable patient care area preferred
• BLS / ACLS with instructor level preferred
• Teaching methodology / Educator specialist training with certification preferred
• MSc in Nursing preferred (or equivalent Masters in Education/Healthcare related field)
• Minimum of 2-3 years as a Nurse Educator

Pay: RM6,000.00 - RM7,000.00 per month
