We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of EMMP & Airport Wildlife Consultant. The ideal candidate needs to have a strong background in environmental engineering/science or a related field, with expertise in environmental management monitoring programs and an interest in wildlife management. This position offers a unique opportunity to experience a broad scope involving sustainable developments and airport wildlife management.
Your Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement environmental management monitoring programs to assess and mitigate environmental impacts in developments.
- Conduct regular site inspections and environmental audits to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and standards.
- Provide advice and guidance on environmental best practices, including pollution prevention, waste management, etc.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders, regulatory agencies to address environmental impacts and promote environmental stewardship.
- Conduct bird surveys and wildlife assessments to identify species present in and around the airport, assess potential wildlife hazards to aviation, and develop strategies to mitigate wildlife-aircraft incidents.
- Design and implement wildlife management plans, including habitat modification, deterrent techniques, and wildlife monitoring programs, to reduce the risk of bird strikes and other wildlife-related incidents.
- Collaborate with airport operations and management staff to implement wildlife hazard management measures, such as wildlife fencing, bird control devices, and habitat management practices.
- Prepare and deliver technical reports, presentations, and training sessions on environmental and wildlife management topics for airport staff, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Participate in incident investigations related to wildlife strikes, and other environmental emergencies as needed.
Our Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree or higher in environmental engineering, science, ecology, or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in EMMPs, with specific experience in non-biodiversity aspects of EMMP.
- Strong knowledge of EMMP processes, environmental regulations/guidelines such as those related to air/water quality, vibration, noise/light pollution and their impacts on biodiversity.
- Excellent report writing with attention to detail as well as analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and make informed recommendations for environmental and wildlife management strategies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, communicate technical information to non-technical audiences, and build positive relationships with stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
- Proficiency in GIS (Geographic Information Systems) software preferred. AutoCAD proficiency is advantageous.
- Certified ISA Arborist or Animal Professional Certifications or similar professional certifications desirable.
