Job Description:
Design, develop and configure AS400 COBOL software modules, interfaces and components
Lead and mentor junior developers: conduct code reviews, provide technical guidance, and support skill development within the team
Ability to work in a team environment delivering quality software that meets requirements working to a timeline
Explore new business solutions to continually enhance functionality that fulfills business / user needs
Adopt standards and methodologies of application design and functionality
Motivated to be continually enhancing technical skills to be aware of the latest software development trends/skills
Be a self-starter and recognize when issues need to be raised
Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders and translate business requirements into technical solutions
Qualifications and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science / Information Technology
Minimum 7 years of AS400 COBOL development experience (candidates with Mainframe COBOL or AS400 RPG development experience will be considered for candidates who demonstrate strong aptitude and willingness to transition to AS400 COBOL)
Experience in Banking domain, especially in Payments
Working knowledge of AS400 COBOL (Mainframe COBOL or AS400 RPG), SQL and DB2 database
Familiar with JIRA and ALDON
Involved in complete software delivery lifecycle, and maintaining AS400 applications
Demonstrated experience in coaching or mentoring junior team members is a plus
Excellent communication skills and ability to handle communication at different levels
Hands-on experience working in client-facing role and stakeholder management
