About the Role

Are you passionate about sports, energetic, responsible and comfortable working independently?

We are looking for a Retail Department Manager to take full ownership of a commercial sport department. This role combines sales management, team leadership, customer experience, stock management and operational safety.

You will be responsible for running your department like your own business, making decisions, driving performance and developing your team.

Sales & Business Management

• Take ownership of department sales and commercial performance.
• Analyze the KL market and identify opportunities to grow sales.
• Set sales priorities, forecast performance and manage budgets.
• Make independent decisions on product range, merchandising and store layout.
• Drive the team to achieve and exceed sales targets.

Team Leadership & Development

• Recruit and develop energetic and sports-minded team members.
• Coach and develop the team through daily on-the-floor leadership.
• Create individual development plans and support team members in building their skills.
• Motivate the team and create a positive, high-performance environment.

Customer Experience

• Ensure customers receive quality and sport-focused advice.
• Ensure appropriate team coverage through effective scheduling.
• Build strong customer relationships through genuine knowledge and passion for sport.
• Identify opportunities to improve customer experience and sales.

Stock & Department Management

• Maintain an attractive, organized and customer-friendly department.
• Ensure strong product availability and accurate inventory.
• Monitor stock levels and use digital systems to improve stock accuracy.
• Continuously improve the department layout and product presentation.

Safety & Store Operations

• Ensure safety standards and operational procedures are consistently followed.
• Protect customers, employees, products and the business.
• Take proactive action to reduce operational risks and stock shrinkage.
• Act as Duty Manager when scheduled and oversee the operations of the entire store.

Requirements

• Minimum Diploma in any field.
• Final-year students, fresh graduates and experienced candidates are welcome to apply.
• Strong communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia, written and spoken.
• Additional languages are an advantage.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays.
• Genuine interest and passion for sports.
