• Maintain critical infrastructure platforms including compute, storage, virtualisation, and supporting systems including Azure GCC landing-zone resources and Windows Server platform services across development, staging and production environments.
• Follow and implement platform standards, executing infrastructure automation and modern operational practices including Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform and Ansible to adopt cloud automation.
• Support platform enhancement initiatives and implementation of new infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with govenrment enterprise architecture standards and GCC-provided guardrails.
• Manage cloud platform GCC Azure including capacity monitoring, performance optimisation, and operating system lifecycle management.
• Implement and maintain robust monitoring and observability solutions for all platform components using modern tooling (e.g., Dynatrace, ELK stack) and Azure Monitor / Azure-native monitoring tools where applicable.
• Execute platform patching strategies, leveraging automation to maintain security and stability while minimising service disruption including Windows Server patch baselines and vulnerability remediation tracking.
• Provide L2/L3 technical support for platform-related incidents, conducting problem determination and resolution for cloud infrastructure and Windows platform incidents.
• Support containerisation initiatives and maintain container orchestration platforms for traditional workloads where applicable.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices to automate platform provisioning and configuration management with version control and peer review prior to deployment.
• Maintain backup, DR, and high-availability solutions for critical platform components including periodic DR testing and business continuity configurations.
Implement security hardening, access management and compliance controls.
