Role Summary

We are looking for a passionate and student-focused Teacher, Information & Communications Technology (ICT) to inspire learners through practical technology, digital literacy and hands-on learning.

This role is ideal for someone with experience teaching ICT, Computing, Digital Literacy, Maker Education or related subjects in a school or educational setting. You should enjoy working directly with students and helping them develop practical technology skills, creativity, problem-solving abilities and confidence.

The role focuses on teaching technology effectively,engaging learners and turning technology concepts into meaningful hands-on learning experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons in ICT, digital literacy, computing and practical technology.
• Teach students how to use technology confidently, effectively and responsibly.
• Guide students through hands-on projects that encourage experimentation, creativity and problem-solving.
• Introduce age-appropriate concepts such as digital tools, productivity applications, online safety, computational thinking and basic coding where relevant.
• Facilitate practical maker or technology-based activities such as design projects, robotics, electronics, 3D printing or creative technology projects, depending on the learners' level.
• Adapt teaching approaches and learning resources to suit students with different abilities and learning needs.
• Create a positive and supportive classroom environment that encourages students to explore, experiment and learn by doing.
• Monitor student progress and provide appropriate feedback and support.
• Develop lesson materials, activities and project-based learning resources.
• Work collaboratively with educators and the wider team to support students' academic and co-curricular development.
• Mentor students in teamwork, creativity, resilience and responsible use of technology.

Personal Competencies, Experience, and Qualifications

• Minimum qualification: Diploma in Information Technology or an equivalent field.
• A recognised teaching qualification from institutions such as the National Institute of Education (NIE), International Baccalaureate, Cambridge International Education, or Institute of Technical Education (ITE) is required.
• Proficiency in MS Office applications, fundamental computing skills, video/audio editing tools, and basic programming.
• Experience teaching ICT, Computing, Digital Literacy, Computer Studies, Maker Education or related subjects in a school or educational institution.
• Good practical knowledge of digital tools and fundamental computing concepts, with the ability to apply them effectively in teaching and learning.
• Experience developing or delivering hands-on, project-based or technology-enabled learning activities.
• Prior teaching experience, ideally within a mainstream school, specialised or technical education setting, or other educational institution.
• Demonstrated resilience and a strong passion for working with youth.
• Effective team player with excellentinterpersonal and communication abilities.
