Key responsibilities
- Conduct regular inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical equipment
- Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimise downtime and extend the lifespan of facility assets
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergency repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations
- Monitor and manage utility consumption, identifying opportunities for energy efficiency and cost reduction
- Maintain comprehensive maintenance records and documentation for all facility systems and equipment
- Ensure all facilities operations comply with health, safety, and environmental regulations
- Coordinate with contractors and vendors for specialised maintenance and repair services
- Conduct safety inspections and implement corrective actions to maintain a safe working environment
- Prepare detailed reports on facility conditions, maintenance activities, and recommended improvements
- Support facilities management initiatives and contribute to continuous improvement projects
What we're looking for
- FMM Certification: Current Certified Facilities Management Malaysia (FMM) qualification or equivalent professional facilities management certification
- Technical qualifications: Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, or Building Services), or equivalent practical experience in facilities maintenance
- Maintenance expertise: Proven experience in facilities maintenance, building systems management, and mechanical/electrical troubleshooting, ideally within industrial, commercial, or institutional environments
- Safety knowledge: Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations relevant to facilities operations
- Technical skills: Proficiency in reading technical drawings, blueprints, and system schematics; familiarity with Building Management Systems (BMS) is advantageous
- Problem-solving abilities: Strong diagnostic and analytical skills to identify issues and implement effective solutions efficiently
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia; ability to liaise effectively with staff, contractors, and management
- Attention to detail: Meticulous approach to maintaining records, safety compliance, and quality standards
- Preferred experience: Background in managing multiple facility systems, experience with preventative maintenance programmes, or exposure to energy management initiatives
