About the role

TER Badminton Academy is seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Part Time Badminton Coach to join our coaching team in Shah Alam, Selangor. This is a part-time position that offers flexibility whilst enabling you to make a meaningful impact on our students' athletic development and passion for badminton. As a Part Time Badminton Coach, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality coaching sessions, developing players' technical skills, and fostering a positive learning environment that encourages growth, discipline, and a love for the sport.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct engaging and progressive badminton coaching sessions for students of varying ability levels and age groups

• Develop personalised training plans tailored to individual player needs, goals, and skill development stages

• Teach and refine fundamental badminton techniques including footwork, strokes, court positioning, and tactical awareness

• Provide constructive feedback and motivation to help players improve their performance and confidence

• Ensure all coaching sessions maintain high standards of safety and appropriate use of facilities and equipment

• Monitor player progress and communicate updates to parents or guardians as appropriate

• Maintain a positive and inclusive coaching environment that promotes teamwork, respect, and sportsmanship

• Prepare for and support academy events, competitions, and training camps as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a badminton coach or player with strong technical knowledge of the sport

• Excellent understanding of badminton techniques, rules, tactics, and training methodologies

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with diverse age groups and ability levels

• Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for coaching and developing young talent

• Ability to create a safe, motivating, and inclusive coaching environment

• Physical fitness and ability to demonstrate techniques and participate actively in coaching sessions

• Flexibility to work part-time hours, which may include evenings and weekends

• Relevant coaching certifications or qualifications in badminton (preferred but not essential)

• Current First Aid or CPR certification is advantageous
