Role Overview
This role is suited to an engineer who enjoys owning critical plant utility systems and being hands-on with operational reliability. You will lead the safe and efficient operation of industrial refrigeration systems while overseeing broader utilities, including boilers, steam, compressed air, thermal oil and water systems. A key part of the role is driving Process Safety Management (PSM) compliance, team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the operation, maintenance and reliability of ammonia and freon refrigeration systems across the plant.
• Oversee utility systems including boilers, steam, thermal oil, compressed air and water distribution, ensuring safe and efficient performance.
• Act as the technical lead for refrigeration-related PSM programs, risk assessments, audits, incident investigations and compliance activities.
• Manage and develop a team of technicians and operators, ensuring capability, accountability, and safe work practices.
• Drive troubleshooting, root cause analysis and reliability improvements to reduce downtime and operational risk.
• Identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency, system performance and utility costs.
• Coordinate contractors, maintenance activities, documentation, inspections, shutdowns and emergency response readiness.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3-5 years of experience with industrial refrigeration systems in manufacturing or process industries.
• Hands-on experience with PSM implementation and compliance.
• At least 1-2 years in a supervisory or team leadership role.
• Strong troubleshooting, planning, and technical documentation capabilities, including P&ID interpretation and CMMS usage.
• Exposure to boilers, steam, thermal oil, compressed air or water utility systems is advantageous.
• Able to support flexible working hours and respond to utility or refrigeration emergencies when required.

• Refrigeration: 3 years (Preferred)
