As the Assistant IT Manager, you will support the day-to-day management, availability, security and performance of the hotel's technology infrastructure and systems. You will ensure that IT systems and services are reliable, secure and aligned with the operational needs of the hotel.
The role provides day-to-day IT support to all departments, assists in managing hotel technology systems and vendors, coordinates IT maintenance and projects, and supports the implementation of appropriate controls to protect the hotel's data, systems and business operations.
You will work closely with Management and department leaders to identify technology needs, resolve system-related issues, improve operational efficiency and support a seamless technology experience for both associates and guests.
Key Responsibilities:
- IT Operations & Infrastructure - Support the day-to-day operation, maintenance and performance of the hotel's IT infrastructure, including computers, network equipment, Wi-Fi, internet connectivity, printers, telephony and other technology equipment.
- Hotel Systems & Applications - Monitor the availability and proper functioning of key hotel technology systems, including Property Management Systems (PMS), Point-of-Sale (POS), payment-related systems, access control, guest Wi-Fi, staff applications and other operational systems.
- Technical Support - Provide timely technical support and troubleshooting to all hotel departments. Escalate complex or recurring IT issues to the appropriate support team and follow through until resolution.
- Cybersecurity & Data Protection - Support the implementation and maintenance of IT security measures to protect hotel systems, networks, devices and data from unauthorised access, malware, data loss and other cybersecurity risks.
- Network & System Management - Monitor the hotel's network, connectivity and critical systems to ensure stability, performance and availability. Conduct regular system checks and report any issues requiring attention.
- IT Security & Access Control - Assist in managing access to IT systems, user accounts, equipment and other critical IT resources. Ensure access is provided only to authorised personnel and records are properly maintained.
- IT Projects & System Implementation - Support IT projects, system implementations, upgrades, migrations and technology improvements. Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to minimise disruption to hotel operations.
- Vendor & Service Provider Management - Coordinate with IT vendors, contractors, service providers and technology partners for maintenance, repairs, troubleshooting and other IT-related services.
- IT Asset & Inventory Management - Maintain accurate records of IT equipment, hardware, software, licenses and other technology assets. Ensure equipment is properly maintained, secured and replaced when required.
- IT Budget & Cost Management - Assist with IT purchasing, quotations, expenditure tracking and budget-related activities. Support Management in identifying opportunities to improve IT cost efficiency.
- Business Continuity & System Recovery - Support backup, recovery and contingency procedures for critical hotel systems and assist with business continuity and disaster recovery requirements.
- IT Policies & Compliance - Follow and support the implementation of IT policies, procedures, standards and best practices in line with company requirements.
- User Access & Onboarding - Assist with the creation, modification and termination of user accounts and system access in accordance with authorised requirements, ensuring access is updated when associates join, transfer or leave the hotel.
- Reporting & Documentation - Maintain accurate IT records, incident logs, system documentation, asset registers, vendor information and maintenance schedules. Provide IT updates and reports to Management as required.
- Training & IT Awareness - Provide basic IT guidance and support to associates on the appropriate use of hotel systems, cybersecurity, data protection and IT policies.
- Interdepartmental Collaboration - Work closely with Front Office, Housekeeping, Finance, Sales, Operations and other departments to understand their technology requirements and provide effective IT support.
- Guest Technology Experience - Support reliable guest-facing technology services, including guest Wi-Fi, digital services, connectivity and other technology-related facilities that contribute to the overall guest experience.
- Continuous Improvement - Identify and recommend opportunities to improve existing systems, processes and technology solutions to increase operational efficiency, reduce downtime and enhance the overall hotel experience.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Diploma / Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field;
- Minimum 4-6 years of relevant IT experience, preferably within the hotel or hospitality industry;
- Good knowledge of IT infrastructure, networking, hardware, software and system administration;
- Experience supporting hotel systems such as PMS, POS, payment systems, access control, guest Wi-Fi and other hospitality technology solutions;
- Good understanding of cybersecurity, data protection, user access management and IT security practices;
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with the ability to diagnose and resolve technical issues effectively;
- Good vendor and service provider coordination skills;
- Good organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple IT tasks and priorities;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English;
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant IT management / reporting systems;
- Basic understanding of IT budgeting, purchasing, asset management and cost control;
- Strong sense of responsibility towards system security, data confidentiality and business continuity;
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Management and operational teams;
- Proactive, service-oriented and adaptable to changing business and technology requirements;
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise urgent issues and minimise operational disruption;
- Willingness to respond to critical IT incidents outside normal working hours when required.
Working Hours:
- Flexi Hours 08:00 – 17:00; 09:00 – 18:00 (including 1 hour meal break)
