ENGINEER / TECHNICIAN – MEDICAL & LABORATORY EQUIPMENT

ABOUT THE ROLE

ASSB is an established Malaysian medical and laboratory equipment company supporting hospitals, laboratories, universities and healthcare organisations nationwide.

We are looking for motivated Engineers and Technicians to join our Technical Team .

The role involves equipment installation, commissioning, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, customer support and technical documentation.

Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. Previous medical equipment experience is not essential for suitable entry-level candidates. Structured technical training will be provided.

- ENGINEER

*Qualification: Degree in Engineering / related field

*Focus: Engineering analysis & advanced troubleshooting

*Installation: Lead/support complex installations

*Troubleshooting: Diagnose electrical, electronic, mechanical & instrumentation faults

*Testing: Conduct technical evaluations and functional testing

*Customer Support: Provide technical consultation and customer training

*Documentation: Prepare technical and project documentation

*Projects: Support project coordination

- TECHNICIAN

*Qualification: Diploma / Certificate / technical qualification

*Focus: Hands-on servicing & first-level troubleshooting

*Installation: Support installations under guidance

*Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and authorised repairs

*Testing: Perform routine checks and calibration as trained

*Customer Support: Provide on-site technical assistance

*Documentation: Complete service and maintenance records

*Projects: Support installation and implementation

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- ENGINEER

* Install, commission and service medical and laboratory equipment.

* Perform preventive and corrective maintenance, calibration and functional testing.

* Diagnose complex electrical, electronic, mechanical and instrumentation faults.

* Interpret technical manuals, schematics and service documentation.

* Support equipment demonstrations, evaluations and customer training.

* Assist hospital and laboratory implementation projects.

* Provide technical guidance to Technicians and junior Engineers.

* Prepare service, installation and technical reports.

* Liaise with manufacturers on technical issues, warranty and spare parts.

* Support continuous improvement of technical procedures and service quality.

- TECHNICIAN

* Install, set up and maintain medical and laboratory equipment.

* Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and routine functional checks.

* Conduct first-level troubleshooting and authorised repairs.

* Replace approved components and service parts where required.

* Assist Engineers during complex installations and commissioning.

* Provide on-site customer technical support.

* Assist with equipment demonstrations and user training.

* Complete accurate service and maintenance reports.

* Escalate complex technical issues to Engineers or the Technical Manager.

COMMON RESPONSIBILITIES

Both Engineers and Technicians will:

* Travel to hospitals, laboratories and healthcare facilities across Malaysia.

* Follow ASSB SOPs, manufacturer procedures and safety requirements.

* Maintain professional customer relationships.

* Participate in manufacturer-certified and internal technical training.

* Support product demonstrations and customer training.

* Maintain accurate service documentation.

* Participate in technical meetings and knowledge-sharing.

* Continuously develop technical knowledge and competency.

* Maintain professional conduct when representing ASSB.

REQUIREMENTS

- ENGINEER

* Medical Electronics

* Instrumentation Engineering

* Related engineering disciplines

Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related field.

* Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply.

* Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

* Able to understand technical manuals and schematics.

* Good communication and interpersonal skills.

* Willing to travel.

* Valid Malaysian driving licence.
