The Asia-Pacific Institute for Broadcasting Development (AIBD) is an Inter-Governmental Organisation (IGO) established under the auspices of UNESCO. From our headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, we drive media development, policy, and capacity building across the Asia-Pacific electronic media industry.

We are seeking a creative, versatile, and dynamic Digital Communications & Graphic Designer to strengthen AIBD’s digital presence and visual communications. This role combines social media management, content creation, graphic design, publication support, and website updates. You will work closely with the Programme Team and management to communicate AIBD’s activities, programmes, partnerships, and institutional work across digital platforms.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities

1.    Social Media Management & Digital Communications

·      Manage AIBD’s official social media platforms, including Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and other relevant platforms.

·      Develop and maintain a social media content calendar covering AIBD programmes, workshops, events, partnerships and institutional activities.

·      Prepare, schedule and publish social media posts regularly, ensuring timely and consistent communication.

·      Write and edit captions, headlines and short promotional copy in clear professional English.

·      Monitor comments, messages and audience engagement, and coordinate responses with the relevant AIBD team where necessary.

·      Monitor social media performance and prepare basic analytics on reach, engagement and content performance.

·      Support live and timely social media coverage during AIBD events, including the Asia Media Summit, General Conference, workshops and international meetings.

2.    Content Creation & Graphic Design

·      Create engaging digital content including infographics, social media cards, posters, banners, event materials and promotional campaigns.

·      Produce and edit simple short-form videos, reels and promotional clips for social media and AIBD activities.

·      Edit photographs and visual assets for digital and publication use.

·      Ensure AIBD’s visual identity and branding remain consistent across all communication materials.

3.    Publications & Corporate Communications

·      Lead the design and layout of the Quarterly AIBD Broadcaster, including feature spreads, article visualisation and publication templates.

·      Design and format AIBD publications and reports, including the AMS Annual Proceedings, covers, charts and data visualisation elements.

·      Prepare professional PowerPoint presentations for AIBD management and international stakeholder engagements.

·      Support newsletters, event announcements, programme promotions and other corporate communication materials.

4.    Website & Digital Content

·      Update AIBD’s website through WordPress, including news, events, banners, photographs and programme information.

·      Ensure website content is current, visually consistent and aligned with AIBD’s communications.

·      Coordinate content across the website and social media so that AIBD’s activities are communicated consistently.

·      Provide light copy and headline suggestions and contribute ideas during content and creative planning.

Requirements & Qualifications

Education & Experience

• Degree: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Communications, Digital Media, Multimedia, Graphic Design, Marketing, Visual Communication, or a related field.
• Experience: 1–3 years in digital communications, social media, media, publication, marketing, or a creative environment. Fresh graduates with a strong portfolio and demonstrated social media experience are welcome.

Technical Skills & Competencies

• Design Tools: Good proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign) and Canva or similar design tools.
• Social Media: Hands-on experience with Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram, including content planning, scheduling, publishing and basic analytics.
• Content & Communication: Good written English with the ability to prepare concise social media captions, headlines and promotional copy.

Soft Skills: Able to manage multiple assignments, prioritise deadlines, work independently when required, and collaborate effectively with the Programme Team.

• Video & Web: Basic video editing and short-form content creation skills, with working knowledge of WordPress or a similar content management system.
