Job Description

• The Palmalayan Company is looking for a motivated and hardworking Kitchen Apprentice to join our kitchen team.
• This position is suitable for individuals who are interested in building a career in the culinary industry and are willing to learn through hands-on experience in a professional kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist the kitchen team with daily food preparation and mise en place.
• Assist with basic cooking and food production under supervision.
• Prepare ingredients according to kitchen standards and recipes.
• Assist with plating and food presentation.
• Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of workstations, kitchen equipment and storage areas.
• Follow food safety, hygiene and halal kitchen procedures.
• Assist with receiving, storing and handling food ingredients properly.
• Support the kitchen team during busy service periods.
• Follow instructions from the Head Chef, CDP and senior kitchen team.
• Perform other kitchen duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous professional kitchen experience required.
• Culinary education or experience is an advantage but not mandatory.
• Willing to learn and develop culinary skills.
• Hardworking, punctual, disciplined and responsible.
• Able to work as part of a team.
• Able to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Willing to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
• Good attitude and willingness to accept guidance and feedback.
