Job Summary
The Chargeman is responsible for overseeing and maintaining the building's electrical systems and equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The role involves conducting electrical inspections, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensuring compliance with electrical safety requirements and applicable regulations.
Requirements
- Diploma or Certificate in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 2–3 years of relevant experience in electrical maintenance or building/facility management.
- Valid Suruhanjaya Tenaga (ST) Chargeman Competency Certificate with the appropriate category.
- Good knowledge of electrical systems, equipment, and maintenance procedures.
- Familiar with electrical safety requirements and relevant Malaysian regulations
- Able to troubleshoot electrical problems effectively.
- Responsible, safety-conscious, and able to work independently.
- Good communication and coordination skills.
- Willing to work on shifts, weekends, public holidays, or respond to emergencies when required.

Responsibilities:
- Operate, monitor, and maintain electrical systems, switchboards, generators, transformers, and related equipment.
- Carry out regular inspections and preventive maintenance of electrical installations.
- Troubleshoot electrical faults and arrange timely repairs to minimize operational downtime.
- Monitor electrical consumption and identify opportunities to improve energy efficiency.
- Ensure electrical equipment and installations are maintained in safe and proper working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and equipment performance.
- Coordinate with contractors and service providers for electrical maintenance and repair works.
- Assist in planning and coordinating scheduled electrical shutdowns and maintenance activities.
- Respond promptly to electrical breakdowns and emergency situations.
- Ensure all electrical work is carried out according to safety procedures and relevant regulatory requirements.
- Ensure proper housekeeping and safety standards are maintained in electrical rooms and work areas.
- Support and building facility maintenance activities when required.
- Perform other duties related to electrical and facility maintenance as assigned by management.
