Job Description

1. Assess the medical condition of patient.

2.Device procedures for patient’s treatment

3.Liaise with all consultants, nursing and clinical staff

4.Attend to all emergency cases in both A&E and wards

5.Explain to patient the preliminary diagnosis prior referring to the consultants for admission

6.Cooperate with Medical Officer Incharge to arrange roster

7.To do locum if required

8. Sharing knowledge with the nursing team

9.Ensure to actively participate in all 5S activities

10.Participate actively in any other new service that is introduced

11.Ensure the policies on patients and family’s rights are addressed at all times.

12.Ensure compliance to Patient safety goals as safety improvement measures recommended by World Alliance for Patient Safety (2008)

13.To carried out duties as an employee as stipulated in Occupational Safety and Health Act and Regulations 1994:-
•To take reasonable care at work for the safety of yourself and other persons;
• To co-operate with your employer or any other person in the discharge of any duty;

• To wear or use any protective equipment or clothing provided by the employer;
• To comply with any instruction or measure on occupational safety and health.

14. Adopt the policies and procedures of ISO 9001:2008, ISO 14001:2004, OHSAS 18001:2007, Malaysian Hospital Accreditation Standards and Joint Commission International Accreditation Standards

15. Perform any other duties assigned by the HOS.
