Job Summary

Year 1 Teacher (Singapore L2 Qualified Teacher)

The Year 1 Teacher is responsible for delivering engaging, age-appropriate learning experiences for students aged 5 to 7. The role involves teaching the Cambridge curriculum, managing a homeroom class, monitoring student progress and working closely with parents and school stakeholders to support each child's academic, social and emotional development.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Cambridge curriculum in English, Mathematics,Science and etc through engaging, age-appropriate and differentiated lessons for Year 1 students.
• Plan and implement effective lessons that cater to different learning abilities, interests and developmental needs.
• Manage the Year 1 homeroom class by establishing a positive, safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Build positive relationships with students and support their academic, social and emotional development.
• Monitor, assess and document student progress and attainment to inform teaching strategies and learning interventions.
• Provide appropriate support and differentiation for students with varying learning needs.
• Communicate regularly and effectively with parents regarding student progress, development, behaviour and learning needs.
• Collaborate with colleagues and school stakeholders to support students' overall learning and wellbeing.
• Participate in school activities, meetings, professional development and other duties assigned by the school.
• Maintain accurate student records, assessment data and other relevant documentation.

Required Competencies and Certifications

• Hold a valid Singapore L2 Teaching Qualification recognised by EDCA.
• Hold a First Aid Certificate to ensure student safety and respond effectively to emergencies.
• Demonstrate strong knowledge of early primary education, classroom management and age-appropriate teaching practices.
• Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills when working with young children, parents and colleagues.

Competencies and Qualifications

• Degree in Education or a related field, demonstrating foundational knowledge in teaching methodologies, curriculum planning and child development.
• Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience, preferably with Year 1 or lower primary students.
• Prior experience teaching in an international school or Cambridge curriculum environment is preferred.
• Experience in differentiated instruction and supporting students with diverse learning needs.
• Strong understanding of child development and the transition from early years to primary education.
• A warm, patient and nurturing approach to working with young learners.
• Strong classroom management, organisation and lesson-planning skills.

Pay: $4,000.00 - $5,000.00 per month
