We're Hiring: Quality Management (QM) Manager / Assistant Manager

Location: Johor | Industry: Manufacturing

We are looking for an experienced Quality Management Manager / Assistant Manager to lead our overall quality function covering Quality Assurance, Quality Control and Quality Management Systems.

The successful candidate will be responsible for strengthening quality governance, developing the quality team, ensuring effective laboratory and QA operations, maintaining certification systems, and driving continuous improvement across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the overall QM Department covering QA, QC and Quality Management Systems.
• Establish clear responsibilities, accountability and performance expectations across the quality team.
• Oversee QC laboratory operations, testing, inspection, product release and laboratory controls.
• Lead QA activities, including quality compliance, nonconformance management, CAPA, customer requirements and quality improvement.
• Ensure effective implementation and continual improvement of applicable management systems and certifications, including ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, Halal, Kosher, RSPO and other relevant standards.
• Lead internal and external audits and coordinate with customers, certification bodies, auditors and relevant authorities.
• Monitor quality performance, analyse trends and drive effective root cause analysis, corrective actions and preventive improvements.
• Develop the QM team through manpower planning, coaching, competency development, performance management and succession planning.
• Work closely with Production, Process, Engineering, Procurement, Logistics and other departments to address quality risks and improve overall operational performance.
• Drive improvement in quality systems, laboratory practices, documentation, processes and controls.
• Provide quality performance reports, risks and recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, Chemistry, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Applied Science or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8 years of quality experience in manufacturing, with solid experience managing or leading a quality function.
• Strong experience covering QA, QC and Quality Management Systems.
• Proven experience managing and developing a quality team.
• Strong knowledge of ISO 9001 and FSSC 22000. Experience with Halal, Kosher, RSPO or other relevant certification systems is an advantage.
• Good understanding of laboratory operations, product quality control, CAPA, root cause analysis, audit management and quality improvement.
• Strong leadership, decision making, problem solving and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience in food, food ingredients, oleochemical, chemical or process manufacturing is preferred.
• Good command of English.
