Senior Engineer – Facility Operations & Management (Mechanical/Electrical)
Job Purpose
Responsible for leading, supervising, and ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation, maintenance, and management of mechanical and electrical (M&E) facility systems in compliance with applicable standards, regulations, and company requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Facility Operations
- Monitor daily operations of M&E systems, including HVAC, electrical distribution, generators, UPS, fire protection systems, pumps, and other related systems.
- Ensure continuity and reliability of critical power and utility supplies.
- Troubleshoot technical issues and coordinate corrective actions.
- Maintenance Management
- Plan and supervise Preventive Maintenance (PM), Corrective Maintenance (CM), and Predictive Maintenance activities.
- Ensure critical equipment and systems remain in optimal operating condition.
- Conduct Root Cause Analysis (RCA) for recurring failures and implement corrective measures.
- Contractor & Vendor Management
- Supervise M&E contractors and ensure work is completed according to specifications, SLA, schedule, safety, and quality requirements.
- Monitor vendor performance and manage outsourced maintenance activities.
- Safety & Regulatory Compliance
- Ensure facility operations comply with relevant requirements from DOSH/JKKP, Suruhanjaya Tenaga, BOMBA, Occupational Safety and Health requirements, and applicable technical standards.
- Ensure proper implementation of work permits, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), risk assessments, and safe work procedures.
- Energy Management
- Monitor electricity and utility consumption.
- Identify and implement energy-saving initiatives to improve facility efficiency and reduce operating costs.
- Projects & Continuous Improvement
- Manage facility upgrading, replacement, refurbishment, and improvement projects.
- Prepare technical specifications, budgets, quotation/tender evaluations, and monitor project progress.
- Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare operational, maintenance, downtime, energy consumption, and KPI reports.
- Maintain and update drawings, asset registers, maintenance records, SOPs, and technical documentation.
- Team Leadership
- Lead and mentor engineers, chargemen, technicians, and facility operations personnel.
- Manage work schedules, on-call duties, manpower allocation, and team competency development.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Registration with the Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is an advantage.
- Relevant experience in facility management, building operations, manufacturing, hospitals.
- Strong knowledge of M&E systems, maintenance management, energy management, and HSE requirements.
- Good leadership, troubleshooting, project management, communication, and vendor management skills.
Pay: RM3,700.00 - RM4,500.00 per month
