Role Description The Quality Technician is a full-time, on-site role based in Perai, responsible for supporting product and process quality in a semiconductor and electronics manufacturing environment. This role includes performing routine inspections and measurements of components and assemblies, conducting in-process and final quality checks, and documenting results in accordance with established standards and procedures. The Quality Technician assists in root cause analysis for nonconformities, supports corrective and preventive actions, and collaborates with production, engineering, and quality teams to maintain and improve quality performance. Daily activities also involve using test and measurement equipment, updating quality records, ensuring compliance with relevant quality systems and customer requirements, and participating in continuous improvement initiatives on the manufacturing floor.
Qualifications
  • Ability to perform inspections, measurements, and basic testing using appropriate tools and equipment, and to interpret technical drawings or specifications.
  • Experience with quality control procedures, documentation, and reporting, including handling nonconformities and supporting corrective actions.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes in electronics or semiconductor environments, and understanding of safety, housekeeping, and production best practices.
  • Basic knowledge of quality management concepts (e.g., ISO standards, SPC, or defect analysis) and willingness to learn company-specific quality systems.
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to follow standardized work instructions and work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English, with proficiency in using computers and common office or data-entry software.
  • Relevant technical diploma or certificate in Engineering, Quality, Electronics, or a related field; prior experience in a similar quality or technician role is an advantage.
