About the Team

We are the backend team behind AtlasCloud's MaaS (Model as a Service) platform — the infrastructure that lets developers and enterprises integrate, manage, and scale AI model access through a unified API. Our surface area spans billing, metering, subscriptions, gateway rate-limiting, and the reliability systems that keep everything humming at scale.

The team is growing fast. We're looking for a senior backend engineer who thrives in high-ownership environments, has shipped production billing or payments systems, and gets excited about the intersection of AI infrastructure and developer-facing products.

What You’ll Build

• Design and own core platform modules: billing, metering, invoicing, and reconciliation pipelines that process millions of API calls per day
• Build the marketing and monetization stack: credit top-ups, coupon systems, promotional campaigns, and subscription product logic
• Evolve the AI gateway layer: usage metering, async billing, quota enforcement, and rate-limit infrastructure
• Drive architectural improvements for high-concurrency and strong-consistency scenarios across the billing critical path
• Collaborate with Product, Frontend, and ML teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical designs
• Improve observability, performance, and maintainability of existing systems — and raise the bar for the whole team

Qualifications

• Experience with AI/LLM infrastructure: model gateways, token metering, inference scheduling, or building on top of model APIs
• Kubernetes operator/controller development
• 0→1 design of a billing system or marketing platform
• Performance optimization or reliability engineering track record (p99 latency, SLO ownership)
• Open-source contributions or technical writing
• Remote Work Experience for an international company and working a hybrid schedule supporting multiple geographies
