Summary
As a creative thinker and problem solver, you will have responsibility for supporting the creative team and producing your own stunning work for our portfolio of clients, consisting of some of the biggest brands in the industry. You will be able to manage a project from start to finish, supported by more Senior Design members of the team, and have the responsibility to support and inspire others to achieve overall project goals.
You are expected to work to rapid deadlines that are a natural occurrence within a social media landscape. You are required to demonstrate excellent organisational skills, execution, communication and time management skills whilst working across a variety
of design disciplines - including social asset creation, motion, branding, web and film.
Responsibilities
Working as part of a fast-growing global team, a Middleweight Designer’s responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Delivering great work at pace - in line with the social media landscape that pushes boundaries
- Working to brand guidelines and applying them to their social outputs
- Developing strong collaborative practices with the client teams
- Clearly communicating creative ideas in ideation sessions and in brainstorms - generally playing a more active role in these
- Sharing a rationale with the client team of their design choices in line with the brief
- Coming up with effective creative solutions to design problems and the means to get them done with the support of a Design Director or Lead Designer.
- Effectively communicating their capacity and how long a creative asset will take with the studio resourcing team
- Effectively research into clients, the design landscape to inform their creative outputs
- Beginning to establish a preferred specialism (animation, film, branding and or photography)
- Reviewing assets produced and providing internal and external feedback
- Establishing working relationships with clients - to open up opportunities for partnership and work
- Showcasing original thinking skills and being conscious of design and cultural trends
- Leading on small scale accounts where you take on more responsibility and are supported by a Junior Designer
Skills and qualifications
- At least 3 - 4 years of experience in the industry.
- Must have a keen eye for typography, composition, colour, imagery and all core design principles
- Effectively use all core Adobe applications including, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, XD, Premier Pro and After Effects and have foundational knowledge in Figma
- A strong knowledge of the social media landscape which you will be asked to continue to develop
- Excellent attention to detail and be focused on the delivery of high quality design and written work
- A strong portfolio of socially and idea-driven work.
- Specialised degree or qualification in Graphic Design or similar.
- A strong ambition to inspire and lead others.
