Role Description The Lawyer – Family Law will handle a variety of family law matters, including divorce, child custody, maintenance, and asset division, from initial client consultation to final resolution. Day-to-day responsibilities include advising clients on their legal options, drafting pleadings and agreements, preparing affidavits and other court documents, and representing clients in negotiations, mediation, and court hearings. The role involves legal research, case strategy development, and close collaboration with colleagues and external stakeholders to achieve fair and sustainable outcomes. This is a full time, on-site role based in Singapore, requiring consistent in-person engagement with clients, courts, and the firm’s team.

Qualifications

• Admitted to practice law in Singapore, with a valid practicing certificate and good standing with the relevant regulatory bodies.
• Prior experience or strong interest in family law, including divorce, custody, maintenance, and related proceedings.
• Strong legal research, drafting, and analytical skills, with attention to detail in preparing court documents and client advice.
• Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, with the capacity to handle sensitive matters and support clients through emotionally challenging situations.
• Ability to manage a caseload independently, prioritize tasks effectively, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
• Commitment to ethical practice, client confidentiality, and professional integrity.
• Demonstrated teamwork skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to firm development.
• Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification; additional training or certification in family law or mediation is an advantage.
