Job description:
We are looking for a compassionate special education teacher with experience teaching students with special needs. The ideal candidate will be patient, innovative, organized and committed to helping children, offering support to overcome practical obstacles to their learning.
Facilitating lessons in a manner that will be effective despite a student's challenges.
Providing support for students both academically and personally where necessary.
Respecting students and treating them with dignity in the learning environment.
Preparing lessons in advance with the needs of learners in mind.
Designing activities to achieve the learning goals of the students.
Requirements:
A bachelor's degree or diploma in special education.
A minimum of 3 years experience working with children with special needs.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Knowledge of teaching practices for children with special needs.
Specialization in Special Education would be advantageous.
Working Hours:
Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:30pm

Our team will endeavour to work closely with both the family and other professionals involved in your child's well being. We work in a large, child friendly clinic designed specifically for therapy purposes.
READY LET'S GO is our early intervention program. The program is play based and focuses on building the prerequisite skills a child needs to succeed in preschool. A typical day includes activities that address each of these key skills. The activities would be predominantly group based, with some individual therapy support provided for each child. A typical week would include the following:
Activities focused on language development and social communiucation
Fine motor activities to develop hand skills
Activities to develop listening skills and the ability to attend to a teacher
Play experiences to develop imaginary and symbolic play skills
Sensory exploration and creative play experiences (art, messy play)
Song and dance/music and movement activities
Perceptual motor activities to develop gross motor ability and confidence
