Position Overview
Lead the organisation's technology vision, digital innovation roadmap, and engineering strategy to enable sustainable business growth and operational excellence.
Drive the development of scalable digital platforms, emerging technology initiatives, and high-performing technology teams while ensuring security, resilience, and long-term competitiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Technology Strategy & Leadership
- Define and execute the organisation's long-term technology vision and roadmap.
- Align technology investments with business objectives and commercial strategy.
- Serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, contributing to overall business growth and strategic direction.
- Drive digital transformation and continuous improvement initiatives.
Data, AI & Emerging Technology Strategy
- Lead the development and deployment of data-driven products and intelligent technology solutions.
- Establish governance, ethical practices, and responsible use frameworks for emerging technologies.
- Drive initiatives involving machine learning, intelligent automation, predictive analytics, and advanced data solutions.
- Oversee data architecture, data governance, and lifecycle management.
Engineering Leadership
- Build, mentor, and scale high-performing Engineering, DevOps, Data, and Technology teams.
- Establish engineering best practices, development standards, and technical governance.
- Implement Agile, DevOps, CI/CD, and engineering productivity frameworks.
Product & Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner closely with Product and Business Leadership to define product vision and technology roadmaps.
- Translate business and customer requirements into scalable technical solutions.
- Drive innovation that enhances customer experience and business competitiveness.
Operational Excellence
- Manage technology budgets, vendor relationships, and strategic technology investments.
- Establish KPIs and performance metrics for engineering efficiency, platform reliability, and technology operations.
- Ensure high system availability, service reliability, and operational excellence.
Key Requirements
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.
- 12+ years of progressive technology leadership experience.
- Experience leading engineering teams of 30+ professionals.
- Experience managing technology budgets, vendor ecosystems, and strategic technology investments.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Technical / Functional Expertise
- Strong expertise in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Machine Learning (ML), Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), and data platforms.
- Deep understanding of cloud technologies, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, microservices, APIs, distributed systems, and DevOps practices.
- Experience with Agile delivery methodologies, DevOps, CI/CD pipelines, and engineering governance.
- Expertise in enterprise platform architecture, cloud-native applications, and digital transformation initiatives.
- Experience with MLOps, AI governance, data engineering, analytics platforms, and intelligent automation solutions.
