Role Description The Lifting Supervisor is a full-time, on-site role based in Petaling Jaya, responsible for overseeing and coordinating all lifting operations at project and construction sites. This role includes planning lifting activities, reviewing lifting plans and method statements, and ensuring that lifting equipment and accessories are selected, inspected, and used safely and in accordance with regulatory and company standards. The Lifting Supervisor will work closely with crane operators, riggers, site engineers, and safety personnel to organize lifting schedules, conduct toolbox meetings, and monitor site conditions to prevent unsafe practices. Daily tasks involve supervising lifts, verifying load weights and lifting configurations, maintaining lifting records and permits, and stopping work when hazards or non-compliance are identified. The role also supports training and mentoring of site personnel on lifting procedures and contributes to continuous improvement of lifting practices and safety culture.
Qualifications

• Experience supervising lifting operations in construction, fabrication, or industrial environments, with strong knowledge of cranes, rigging gear, and lifting accessories.
• Familiarity with relevant lifting, safety, and regulatory standards (e.g., local occupational safety regulations, lifting codes, and best practices).
• Ability to read and interpret lifting plans, engineering drawings, method statements, and load charts.
• Strong site coordination skills, including organizing teams, planning work sequences, and managing time-sensitive lifting activities.
• Excellent attention to detail and risk awareness, with the ability to identify hazards and enforce safe work procedures.
• Effective communication and leadership skills to conduct briefings, provide clear instructions, and collaborate with multidisciplinary site teams.
• Relevant certifications or training in lifting supervision, rigging, crane operation safety, or occupational safety and health are highly beneficial.
• Prior experience in oil & gas, heavy industry, or large construction projects is an advantage.
