Junior IoT Engineer

Role Summary
The Junior IoT Engineer supports the testing, configuration, deployment and maintenance of IoT sensors, gateways and related field devices. The role involves both laboratory testing and onsite implementation to ensure devices are correctly installed, communicating reliably and integrated into MAGNIFI’s monitoring platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Test and validate IoT sensors, meters, gateways and communication devices before deployment.
• Configure sensors, data loggers, gateways and IoT communication parameters.
• Perform bench testing, functional testing and basic troubleshooting of IoT hardware.
• Support onsite deployment, installation, commissioning and testing of IoT solutions.
• Connect and integrate sensors using protocols such as Modbus RTU/TCP, RS485, digital input/output and Ethernet.
• Verify sensor readings and ensure data is correctly transmitted from field devices to gateways and the monitoring platform.
• Perform connectivity testing involving 4G/LTE, WiFi, Ethernet and IoT gateways.
• Troubleshoot hardware, cabling, power, communication and data transmission issues.
• Work with the Product and Innovation team on prototype testing and new IoT solution development.
• Maintain proper documentation of device configuration, testing results, installation details and asset information.
• Support site surveys and preparation of deployment requirements including power, cabling, connectivity and mounting.
• Coordinate with internal project teams, vendors and clients during deployment activities.
• Assist with post deployment monitoring and resolution of technical issues.

Pay: RM3,000.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
