The Radiographer is responsible for providing safe, accurate, and high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients attending the Cancer & Health Screening Clinic. The Radiographer performs imaging examinations in accordance with established protocols, radiation safety standards, and organizational policies while ensuring excellent patient care and maintaining the highest standards of image quality. The role also includes equipment quality assurance, administrative documentation, patient education, and support for clinic operations and outreach programmes.

Key responsibilities and accountabilities:

Clinical

• Perform diagnostic imaging procedures including Mammography (2D/3D Tomosynthesis), General X-ray, and Bone Mineral Density (DEXA) examinations in accordance with departmental protocols.
• Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the examination, obtaining relevant clinical information, and ensuring patient comfort.
• Verify patient identity and examination requests prior to imaging.
• Position patients accurately to obtain optimal diagnostic images while minimizing repeat exposures.
• Operate imaging equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and radiation safety regulations.
• Ensure image quality meets diagnostic standards before submission for reporting.
• Upload and archive imaging studies into the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS) and Radiology Information System (RIS) where applicable.
• Assist Medical Officers and Radiologists during imaging-related procedures when required.
• Provide compassionate care to patients, particularly those undergoing cancer screening or diagnostic investigations.
• Observe infection prevention and control measures throughout all procedures.
• Immediately report abnormal equipment performance or patient incidents to the Medical Officer or management.

Quality Assurance & Radiation Safety

• Perform daily, weekly, and monthly quality control (QC) tests on imaging equipment according to departmental protocols.
• Ensure compliance with radiation protection regulations and maintain radiation safety for patients, staff, and visitors.

• Maintain adequate stock of imaging consumables and notify the appropriate personnel when replenishment is required.

Patient Care & Education

• Provide patients with clear explanations regarding imaging procedures and post-examination instructions.
• Promote patient dignity, privacy, and confidentiality at all times.
• Assist patients with mobility needs before, during, and after imaging procedures.
• Address patient concerns professionally and escalate clinical issues when necessary.

Outreach & Business Development

• Participate in mobile health screening programmes, corporate screening events, and community outreach activities.
• Assist in promoting the clinic's imaging services, breast cancer screening programmes, bone health screening, and other preventive health services.
• Educate patients on the importance of early detection and appropriate imaging examinations as recommended by the Medical Officer.
• Support organizational initiatives to improve patient experience and service utilization.

Pay: RM2,800.00 - RM3,000.00 per month
