Job Summary:
Responsible for mechanical system design review, compliance checks, reliability monitoring, and quality assurance of lift mechanical components.
The Role:
1) Bid Tender Support:
Review mechanical specifications and drawings.
Evaluate traffic analysis compliance and design feasibility.
Identify clashes with local codes or common practices.
2) Lift Project/Installation Stage:
Review shop drawings and mechanical calculations.
Gatekeep installation methodology and mock-up lift checks.
Conduct installation audit inspections.
Participate in handover inspections and defects identification.
3) QA/QC & Engineering Quality:
Monitor reliability of mechanical components (ropes, guide rails, door systems).
Identify recurring mechanical faults and propose improvements.
Conduct supplier quality assessments and lab testing where necessary.
Approve parts listing for mechanical components.
Ensure documentation control for spare parts database.
4) Root Cause Investigation:
Investigate complaints such as noisy operations, vibrations, rusty ropes, etc.
Recommend engineering solutions to reduce recurrence.
What Do You Need to Have?
Candidates need to possess either a Diploma or a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
He/she must possess at least 3 years mechanical engineering experience preferably in the lift industry (elevator/escalator industry).
Strong understanding of lift mechanical systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Hands-on and detail-oriented.
