The Senior Social Worker is responsible for the independent delivery of social services through effective casework management. He/She supervises junior staff on their cases and support group / community work initiatives. He/She also collaborates with community partners to enhance service delivery. Overall, the Senior Social Worker plays a vital role in achieving sustainable outcomes for clients, families, and communities.
Casework Allocation & Delivery
- Prepare case notes and documents for assigned cases
- Provide guidance on needs and intake assessments for complex cases
- Formulate casework intervention plans
- Implement case interventions and care plans / programmes
- Prepare case reports (e.g., social reports, Multidisciplinary Team Meeting Reports, Internal Case
- Review Reports, Escalation reports) Conduct closure of cases upon achieving sustainable service outcomes for clients, families and communities
- Manage crisis cases with partner organisations and agencies
- Review models of care and service delivery aligned to evidence-based practice
Casework Supervision
- Review casework intervention plans, case notes, case reports and the closure of cases for junior colleagues
- Evaluate progress and casework intervention effectiveness
- Provide individual staff supervision
- Conduct group supervision
Group or Community Work
- Conduct environmental scans and community need assessments
- Formulate and facilitate group work interventions and/or community development initiatives
- Collaborate with community partners to execute community programmes
Employee Development
- Assist staff with implementing and improving their self-care plans (e.g., self-reflections, physical and social activities)
Management & Operations
- Perform audits with adherence to organisation's audit framework
Educational Qualifications
- Possess Degree in Social Work or Degree with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from an accredited institution
Relevant Experience
- At least 4-5 years of relevant experience
- Accredited as Registered Social Worker with Singapore Association of Social Workers would be an advantage
