Job Description
Description:
Work closely with internal telecommunications engineers, network architects, and design teams to develop and rationalize project requirements into standardized products, conceptual single-line diagrams, and conceptual rack and cable tray layouts.
Lead the development of telecommunications infrastructure solutions to ensure adequate capacity, scalability, reliability, and maintainability for mission-critical facilities.
Act as the primary point of contact and Client Representative for ICT and telecommunications engineering matters, working closely with internal teams, client representatives, stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and equipment vendors throughout the project lifecycle.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including Architecture, Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Security, and Operations teams to support product development and top-level systems integration.
Provide technical leadership and engineering guidance regarding telecommunications infrastructure, networking systems, structured cabling systems, security systems, controls networks, and associated low-voltage technologies.
Participate in internal and external ICT, telecommunications, networking, security, and controls design reviews to ensure alignment with project requirements, operational objectives, and industry best practices.
Review and provide technical comments on telecommunications, networking, controls, and security system designs, specifications, drawings, reports, and development plans.
Evaluate design solutions to ensure compliance with project standards, client requirements, regulatory requirements, and applicable industry codes and guidelines.
Review construction-level drawings, technical submissions, shop drawings, installation details, and engineering documentation produced by internal teams, consultants, and vendors for ICT and telecommunications scope.
Support the development and implementation of best practices for converged networks across mechanical, electrical, controls, security, and telecommunications systems.
Ensure integration and coordination between ICT infrastructure and all related building systems to support reliability, operational efficiency, and maintainability.
Facilitate effective communication and coordination between multidisciplinary teams to ensure alignment of project goals, schedules, technical requirements, and engineering deliverables.
Identify potential design, coordination, integration, and construction issues at an early stage and provide practical recommendations to mitigate risks, delays, and cost impacts.
Provide technical leadership and engineering recommendations to support project decision-making and resolution of complex telecommunications and network infrastructure challenges.
Review and assess network architectures, telecommunications pathways, rack layouts, cable containment systems, fiber distribution strategies, and equipment integration requirements.
Act as the escalation point for project teams when local regulatory requirements, site conditions, or operational constraints require modifications to canonical telecommunications and networking designs.
Apply sound engineering judgment to evaluate localized design adjustments while maintaining compliance with global standards, design intent, and operational requirements.
Collaborate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and specialist suppliers to ensure alignment with project objectives, quality standards, and client requirements.
Support technical reviews, engineering assessments, and design studies to identify opportunities for standardization, optimization, operational improvement, and value engineering.
Contribute to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) procedures, standards, design guidelines, and review processes.
Escalate critical design and construction issues affecting project scope, cost, quality, safety, functionality, or schedule and support timely resolution with all stakeholders.
Maintain records of design changes, technical issues, engineering decisions, and project risks, while evaluating impacts on project delivery and operational performance.
Ensure timely review, closure, and documentation of project deliverables, technical comments, design reviews, and outstanding engineering actions.
Support the preparation and maintenance of project documentation, including revision control, document management, deliverable tracking, and final project records.
