Job Description — Chief Executive Officer, Food & Beverage
Reporting to: Group CEO / Board of Directors
Role purpose
Lead a diversified food and beverage business, delivering sustainable profit growth, strong brands and consistent customer experiences. The CEO will hold overall accountability for strategy, financial performance, operations, people and governance, building a business that can scale while maintaining food quality, affordability and operational discipline.
Key responsibilities
1. Strategy and business growth
- Develop and execute a long-term strategy supported by annual business plans, budgets and measurable priorities.
- Define the positioning, target customers and growth priorities of each brand.
- Evaluate new concepts, franchise partnerships, outlet expansion and the turnaround or exit of underperforming operations.
- Develop strategic partnerships and commercial opportunities across the wider group.
2. Financial performance
- Own the consolidated P&L, cash flow, working capital and capital expenditure.
- Improve profitability through pricing, product mix, procurement, labour productivity and waste reduction.
- Establish clear profitability reporting by brand, outlet, product category and sales channel.
- Set investment criteria for expansion and production capacity, tracking returns against approved business cases.
3. Operations, production and food safety
- Lead consistent execution across a portfolio of food service formats and locations.
- Oversee production and supply planning to maintain availability, freshness, quality and cost control.
- Establish operating standards for food safety, hygiene, service, product consistency and maintenance.
- Strengthen procurement, inventory management, supplier performance and distribution.
- Maintain business continuity plans for supply, utility and operating disruptions.
4. Brand and customer development
- Strengthen brand relevance through customer insight, product innovation and clear value propositions.
- Drive same-store sales, customer retention and profitable growth across physical and digital channels.
- Establish a disciplined product development process covering testing, costing, launch and performance review.
- Oversee marketing effectiveness, customer feedback and service recovery.
- Manage franchise and brand partnerships, ensuring contractual and operational commitments are met.
5. People and leadership
- Build and lead a strong management team with clear accountability for results.
