Solution architect with broad understanding and experience who will provide overall enterprise design and implementation services, including expert technical advice on complex matters relating to the coexistence of the infrastructure, core/non-core applications and end-user computing pillars of an enterprise. Defines end-to-end architecture and ensures the detailed design and development remains consistent to the overall architecture and sustainability.

Creates solutions, builds consensus and executes IT architecture solutions. Involved in all aspects of the project life cycle, from ideation through the requirements analysis, design and implementation. Establishes architectural view, identification of major system interfaces, development of module reuse for applications and identification of existing architecture weaknesses and opportunities for process reengineering.

Responsible for researching, analyzing, designing, proposing and delivering technology solutions that are appropriate for the business strategies. Researches and evaluates new/alternative solutions and technologies to enhance operational effectiveness and reduce costs.

KEY RESULT AREAS / RESPONSIBILITIES

• Effectively uncover key business requirements in an unstructured environment and set the right technical direction in the early stages of projects.
• Provide strategic, technical and architectural design and recommendations aligned to business strategies..
• Apply expert technical knowledge and industry best practices develop of ICT policies, processes and procedures.
• Contribute to the planning and achievement of organizational objectives, goals and priorities through strategic ICT initiatives.
• Responsible for R&D activities that help identify the most optimal solutions (software, hardware and services) to meet business requirements.
• Reviews and analyzes current technology and its ability to support business strategic objectives.
• Participate in all internal and external projects in various capacities.
• Lead internal ICT projects including those related to process transformations, R&D on new technology, internal software development, infrastructure solutioning, and service improvements.

KEY COMPETENCIES

• Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF, Zachman, FEAF) framework knowledge.
• Business Architecture - integration of business and technical strategy
• Information & Data Architecture (big data, data warehousing, data governance and management, data modelling, MDM, associated tools and technologies)
• Infrastructure Architecture (virtualization, cloud computing, networking)
• Software Architecture
• Information Architecture
• Integration Architecture (EAI, messaging, workflow, associated tools & technologies); End User Computing Architecture (e.g. BYOD, Mobile Computing)
• Experience in CMMI, ITIL or equivalent transformation projects
• Database design

MINIMUM ACADEMIC/PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATION

• Possess a recognised degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent, with at least 6 to 10 years of relevant experience
• Software Project Management
• Professional certification in networking (e.g. CCNP)
• Relevant Enterprise Architecture certification is a bonus

RELATED EXPERIENCE

• At least 6 years of solution/enterprise architecture
• At least 4 years project management
• Experience implementing group-wide ERP within an educational environment is a bonus.
• Extensive hands-on experience in business systems analysis, design and development on multiple platforms.
