NETWORK-ON-CHIP MICROARCHITECT

Location: Penang, Malaysia

Role Overview

• Lead the architecture and microarchitecture of Network-on-Chip (NoC), SoC interconnect, and cache-coherent fabric.
• Define interconnect architecture based on system requirements, performance targets, and customer needs.
• Work closely with SoC architects, design teams, and customers to develop scalable and high-performance interconnect solutions.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

• 12–15+ years of semiconductor design experience.
• At least 5 years of direct experience in:
• Network-on-Chip (NoC)
• SoC Interconnect Architecture
• Cache-Coherent Fabric
• Proven ownership of NoC / Interconnect microarchitecture definition.
• Strong track record of multiple successful tape-outs / production silicon.
• At least one project where the candidate personally led or owned:
• NoC Architecture
• Interconnect / Fabric Architecture
• Cache Coherency Architecture
• Interconnect Subsystem Definition

PROTOCOL EXPERIENCE

Hands-on experience with several of the following:

• AMBA AXI / ACE / AHB / APB
• CHI
• Cache Coherency
• Memory Ordering

NoC TECHNICAL EXPERTISE

Strong understanding of:

• Routing and data transfer
• Flow control
• Virtual channels
• Arbitration
• Quality of Service (QoS)
• Packetization
• Deadlock avoidance
• Latency and bandwidth optimization

PERFORMANCE & SYSTEM MODELING

Experience with:

• Traffic analysis
• Bandwidth estimation
• Latency planning
• System-level performance modeling
• SystemC or cycle-accurate simulation
• SYSTEM / CUSTOMER EXPOSURE
• Experience working directly with SoC Architects and/or customers.
• Able to translate system requirements into NoC architecture and technical specifications.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

The strongest candidates will have:

15+ years semiconductor experience

• 5+ years NoC / Interconnect
• Cache Coherency
• Multiple tape-outs / production silicon
• AXI / CHI / ACE
• Hands-on NoC architecture ownership
