The HR Lead – Asia Operations is a hands-on HR role responsible for supporting the full employee lifecycle and ensuring smooth day-to-day HR operations for our Asia Operations office and regional remote employees. This role requires someone who can take ownership of HR operations, coordinate the HR team, manage employee matters, strengthen recruitment governance, and drive operational excellence.
You will work closely with the Regional HR Director, Global HR Team, hiring managers, and business leaders to deliver a consistent employee experience and support the company's continued growth. The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, solutions-focused, and able to work independently in a fast-paced regional environment.
This role also offers a potential career progression pathway to HR Manager, subject to performance and business requirements.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Lead and coordinate day-to-day HR operations for the Asia Operations office and regional remote employees.
- Partner with managers on workforce planning, employee relations, performance, and people matters.
- Manage Recruitment, Employee Relations, HR Operations, Performance Management, HR Compliance, and Compensation & Benefits.
- Support and guide HR team members while ensuring timely and accurate delivery of HR activities.
- Ensure HR policies, documentation, immigration, and employment practices remain compliant.
- Handle employee relations matters, disciplinary cases, investigations, PIPs, and performance concerns.
- Monitor HR metrics, recruitment SLA, headcount, attrition, and other key HR indicators.
- Collaborate closely with the Global HR Team to ensure consistent HR practices across regions.
- Identify operational gaps and proactively drive process improvements, automation, and greater HR efficiency.
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5–6 years of progressive HR experience, preferably in an HR Generalist, Senior HR Executive, HRBP, or HR Lead capacity.
- Strong experience across Recruitment, Employee Relations, HR Operations, Performance Management, HR Compliance, and Compensation & Benefits.
- Solid understanding of the Malaysian Employment Act and HR best practices.
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring HR team members.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong problem-solving, judgment, and decision-making abilities.
- High level of integrity and ability to manage confidential information.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
Preferred Experience:
- FinTech, Financial Services, Forex, Crypto, Technology, or multinational organizations.
- Experience supporting multiple countries, regional HR operations, or remote employees.
- Experience with employment passes, immigration, or expatriate management.
- Experience using Darwinbox, Deel, or other HRIS platforms.
- Experience with HR dashboards and reporting using Excel, Power BI, Looker Studio, or similar tools.
- Exposure to organizational restructuring, disciplinary matters, and change management.
- Experience working with legal counsel or external HR partners on employment matters.
