Chief Data Officer
Responsibilities:
Reports to the Chief Executive Officer.
Defines and implements the organization’s data strategy, ensuring alignment with Tonik’s business goals.
Develops a roadmap for data innovation and transformation to enhance customer experiences and operational efficiency.
Fosters a culture of data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Establishes and oversees data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, security, and compliance with regulatory requirements (e.g., BSP, AML, GDPR).
Defines policies and standards for data management, ensuring consistent practices across the bank.
Monitors and mitigates risks related to data privacy, security, and ethical usage.
Drives advanced analytics initiatives, including machine learning and AI, to derive actionable insights from data.
Develops and manages data visualization and reporting tools to support strategic decision-making.
Collaborates with business units to identify opportunities for leveraging data to achieve competitive advantages.
Leads and mentors a cross-functional team of data scientists, analysts, and engineers.
Works closely with IT, risk management, marketing, and other departments to integrate data initiatives into business processes.
Serves as a key advisor to the executive team on data-driven opportunities and challenges.
Evaluates and implements state-of-the-art data management technologies and platforms.
Oversees the architecture, acquisition, and integration of data systems to ensure scalability and efficiency.
Stay ahead of industry trends to maintain Tonik’s position as a leader in digital banking.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; master’s or PhD preferred.
Minimum of 10 years of experience in data management, analytics, or a related role, with at least 5 years in leadership positions.
Proven track record in developing and implementing data strategies within the financial services or technology industry.
Expertise in data governance, data analytics, and regulatory compliance in banking.
Strong knowledge of data technologies (e.g., Big Data, AI/ML, cloud platforms).
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Strategic thinker with a problem-solving mindset and the ability to influence at all levels.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess and improve financial processes and systems.
