About the role

Estek Automation Sdn Bhd is seeking a Field Application Technician to join our dynamic engineering team. This is a full-time position based in Batu Kawan, Penang. In this role, you will serve as a crucial link between our customers and our technical expertise, providing on-site support, troubleshooting, and implementation of electrical and electronic automation solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring that our clients receive exceptional technical guidance and that our systems operate at peak performance. This position is essential to maintaining our reputation for excellence and customer satisfaction in the automation industry.

What you'll be doing

• Install, commission, and test electrical and electronic automation systems at customer sites
• Provide technical support and troubleshooting for system faults and performance issues
• Conduct on-site training for customers on the operation and maintenance of automation equipment
• Perform preventative maintenance checks and calibration of systems to ensure optimal performance
• Document technical findings, system configurations, and maintenance activities in detailed reports
• Liaise between customers and the engineering team to address technical concerns and requirements
• Assist in the design and customisation of automation solutions based on customer needs
• Maintain accurate records of equipment specifications, warranties, and service history
• Travel to customer sites as required to provide on-site support and technical consultation

What we're looking for

• Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field
• Proven experience working with electrical and electronic systems, preferably in an automation or industrial control environment
• Strong understanding of electrical circuits, control systems, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) programming, and industrial automation principles
• Excellent troubleshooting and diagnostic skills with the ability to identify and resolve technical issues efficiently
• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and system documentation
• Strong communication skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical customers
• Ability to work independently in the field whilst maintaining high standards of safety and quality
• Flexibility to travel to various customer sites and adapt to different working environments
• Hands-on experience with testing equipment, multimeters, oscilloscopes, and diagnostic tools
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel within Penang and surrounding areas
• Preferred: Experience with specific automation platforms or software relevant to industrial control systems

Pay: RM2,500.00 - RM3,500.00 per month
