About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Indirect Buyer to join our procurement team. You will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies, managing suppliers, driving cost optimization, and ensuring procurement activities comply with company policies and sustainability standards.

This role is ideal for someone who is commercially minded, analytical, and confident in negotiation and stakeholder management.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and execute indirect procurement and sourcing strategies for assigned categories.
• Manage the end-to-end sourcing process, including market research, RFIs/RFQs/RFPs, tendering, negotiation, and contract execution.
• Lead supplier negotiations to achieve cost savings and optimal Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
• Work closely with internal stakeholders to understand requirements and identify cost-saving opportunities.
• Conduct supplier evaluation, performance reviews, and relationship management.
• Monitor market trends, supplier risks, pricing, and potential innovation opportunities.
• Optimize the supplier base while maintaining business continuity and service quality.
• Track negotiated vs. realized savings and provide regular reports to Finance and Management.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, ESG requirements, and governance standards.
• Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, tender, and contract information in ERP / e-sourcing systems.
• Drive continuous improvement across procurement processes and category management.

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years of experience in Indirect Procurement / Purchasing.
• Experience in Retail, FMCG, Consumer Goods, or related industries is preferred.
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related field.
• Strong experience in supplier negotiation, strategic sourcing, and procurement strategy.
• Good knowledge of TCO analysis, cost optimization, and savings tracking.
• Experience with ERP and e-sourcing/procurement tools.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
• Fluent in English and Bahasa Malaysia.
• Strong analytical skills with good attention to detail.
• Proactive, commercially driven, and comfortable challenging suppliers and internal stakeholders.
