Born and brewed in Southern California since 1963,
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
has become one of the world’s largest specialty coffee and tea retailers. In 1963, we opened our very first store in Brentwood, California. Today we have over 1200 stores in 31 countries with offices in, California, Singapore and Malaysia.
Recently,
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
was acquired by Jollibee Foods Corp. (JFC), the Philippines’ largest restaurant company, and Viet Thai International Joint Stock Company (VTI), owner of Vietnam’s Highlands Coffee. The acquisition creates an exciting opportunity for
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
. The new ownership team has set a goal to grow
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf
to the number 2 coffee/tea brand in the world by increasing store count by 4x over the next 5 years, reaching 5000 locations globally by 2025. Ownership is committed to accelerating the growth of the brand in the US and Asia, by strengthening its brand development, marketing and franchise support system. In addition to growing retail store count and sales we are committed to growing our CPG market share. We operate in a dynamic market and believe it is important that we shift our focus from company owned operations to franchise operations, independent market functions to integrated global functions, retail channel sales to omni-channel sales and an analog model to digitally enabled model, respectively.
As we grow our brand, we are committed to maintaining our values, heritage and passion for our products. We have always had a creative and caring spirit. This energy embodied by our Team Members made us famous and beloved by our guests, first in Southern California and now around the world. We are a brand centered around passion. A passion for our premium products, our people, the guests and everyone we work with around the world. Passion is contagious, and we’ve got a serious case of it.
