Job Summary

The Quantity Surveying (QS) Intern will support the Commercial and Project teams in quantity surveying, contract administration, cost control, tendering, and project cost management activities for data center development projects. This internship provides practical exposure to construction cost management, measurement, budgeting, procurement processes, contract documentation, and project financial monitoring within the fast-growing data center industry.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quantity Surveying Support

• Assist in quantity take-offs and measurement works based on drawings and project documents.
• Support the preparation of Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimates.
• Assist in compiling project cost data and maintaining cost records.
• Support project budgeting and cost monitoring activities.

2. Tender & Procurement Support

• Assist in the preparation and issuance of tender documents.
• Support tender evaluations and comparison of quotations received from contractors and suppliers.

3. Contract Administration

• Assist in preparing Letters of Award (LOA), contract documents, and contract correspondence.
• Maintain organized records of contracts, amendments, and supporting documentation.
• Support the administration and monitoring of contract compliance requirements.

4. Claims & Payment Administration

• Assist in reviewing contractors' progress claims and supporting documentation.
• Support verification of variation orders (VO), payment certificates, and final account documentation.

5. Cost Control & Reporting

• Assist in preparing cost reports, financial summaries, and project progress updates.
• Support cost analysis and cost forecasting exercises.

6. Other Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day tasks assigned by the supervisor, department manager, or Head of Department (HOD).
• Support special projects, ad-hoc assignments, and departmental initiatives as required.
• Perform any other duties and responsibilities assigned from time to time as part of the internship learning experience and business requirements.

Qualifications

Education

• Currently pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in:
• Quantity Surveying
• Construction Management
• Civil Engineering
• Building Technology
• Construction Economics
• Project Management
• Or a related field.

**High-performing interns may be considered for permanent employment with PMX Malaysia Sdn Bhd upon successful completion of the internship, subject to business requirements and available vacancies.

Pay: RM900.00 - RM1,300.00 per month
