Location: Petaling Jaya / Kuala Lumpur (Hybrid – 2 Days in Office)
Experience Level: 0–4 Years of Experience (Fresh Graduates Welcome)
Employment Type: Full-Time
About the Opportunity
Affintive is a leading financial operations and strategic advisory firm with a global footprint across Malaysia and Australia. As a value-added service to our elite corporate partners, we facilitate local deployment and support for international teams.
In this role, you will be employed locally by Affintive, working as a dedicated team member for a premium, Sydney-based wealth and funds management firm. You will receive structured training in Australian Corporate Taxation and Fund Accounting directly from the onshore Australian team.
Key Responsibilities
- Tax Preparation: Assist in preparing Australian corporate tax returns, Business Activity Statements (BAS), and payroll tax calculations.
- Fund Compliance: Learn and support the administration of complex trust distributions, financial statements, and fund reporting metrics.
- Data Management: Maintain precise financial records, execute bank reconciliations, and compile client audit workpapers.
- Team Liaison: Co-ordinate on a daily basis with the Sydney accounting team to manage seasonal lodgement deadlines.
What We Are Looking For
- The Non-Negotiable: Absolute fluency in spoken and written English. You must be fully confident communicating technical accounting concepts with Australian colleagues.
- Quality & Awareness: Meticulous attention to detail and high accuracy. Whilst you are not expected to know everything on day one, you must possess a high level of situational awareness, actively identify patterns, and speak up immediately to highlight issues or seek confirmation rather than remaining silent.
- Work Style: A high level of independence and self-drive. Because you will work remotely with an onshore team in Sydney, you must manage your time efficiently without constant direct supervision.
- Education: A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Commerce. Ongoing professional qualifications (CPA, CA) are highly regarded.
- Experience: 1–4 years of experience in tax and funds management. Fresh graduates are highly encouraged to apply if you possess a strong, proactive interest in corporate taxation laws.
- Skills: A fast learner with strong MS Excel capabilities and comfort working with cloud accounting systems (such as Xero).
What We Offer
- Premium Standards: Exposure to top-tier Australian accounting standards where high-quality output is the baseline.
- Flexible Hybrid Setup: Remote collaboration with the onshore team, paired with working from the Affintive office 2 days per week.
- Local Stability: Fully compliant local employment contract, statutory benefits, and dedicated HR support managed seamlessly by Affintive.
- Specialised Training: Direct mentoring and globally relevant training in Australian public practice compliance and fund structures.
